Tracking keywords

Reports → Keywords lets you track up to your plan's limit (5 on Free, 20 on Starter, 50 on Growth, 200 on Pro).

What's tracked

  • Current rank in Google for the keyword + your domain.
  • Search volume (monthly, country-specific).
  • CPC (Google Ads cost per click; useful for prioritization).
  • Position delta vs last week.

Refresh frequency depends on plan tier and available search-data credits.

Adding keywords

Three ways:

  1. Manually: Reports → Keywords → "Add keyword" → enter phrase + country.
  2. From a focus keyword: any focus keyword you set on a resource is auto-added to tracking.
  3. From competitor analysis: Reports → Competitors → expand any competitor → "Add their top 10 to my tracking".

Removing keywords

Click the trash icon on any tracked row. Removes from tracking but preserves history (so re-adding picks up where it left off).

Rank insights

Hover any rank cell to see the past-30-day chart. Click the keyword to see:

  • Which page on your site ranks (often not the one you'd guess — RankEngine flags rank cannibalization in the Content Studio Cannibalization tab).
  • Top-3 ranking competitors for the same keyword.
  • Suggested content topics around the keyword generated by RankEngine AI.

Plan limits

If you hit your tier's keyword cap, the "Add keyword" button is disabled with a banner pointing you to the Billing page. Upgrading is in-app, no support ticket.
